Karien Van der Merwe

She Teaches Human Behaviour in Organisational Context as well as Personal and LeadershipDevelopment at the University of the Free State and the University of Johannesburg. Sibulele Kwenyama

Sibulele is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a professional member with the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors, holding a comprehensive educational background in quantity surveying and project management. She holds a BSc Hons in Construction Economics from Nelson Mandela University, a Postgraduate Diploma in General Management from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She is currently pursuing her MBA at GIBS, furthering her commitment to continuous professional development.

With extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, Sibulele has worked on large scale infrastructure projects. Her roles have included cost control, project preplanning, deal making/ work winning strategies and project management, ensuring the successful delivery of high-value projects from inception to completion. She has extensive experience monitoring operational performance of both internal and external service providers to ensure project team accountability in relation to project outcomes and objectives.

As a strategic construction consultant Sibuele supports clients in delivering value and driven by the support and challenge she provides teams to focus on the project goals nurtured by her result-oriented approach. Her leadership style is inclusive and collaborative, she is committed to innovation and learning, striving to stay at the forefront of industry advancements and leading with excellence.

She is an experienced Executive, Cost & Commercial Expert, Strategic Advisor, Leadership Consultant and Non-Executive Director to several boards. She holds a BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying (University of Cape Town) and an Executive MBA from Lancaster University Management School.

She commands over 22 years’ experience at the helm of cost and resource leadership operations and transformational change across a portfolio of high-value projects and programmes. She is a focused leader with an impressive track record in collaborative, cross-functional teamwork within high-pressure environments in the public and private sector.

She advises her clients on how to drive value and improve their organisational & project performance through collaborative procurement, contracting and behaviours with a throughlife project approach. Her passion for a more collaborative, transparent industry sees itself in the work she undertakes and drawing from the breadth of her experience she supports clients to not only look at the tactical objectives but approach projects and programmes strategically from leadership behaviours through to how to develop high performing project teams from project and asset delivery through to handover.

Precious has experience working with various clients from infrastructure clients in the UK to major mining clients in South Africa. She is a Cranfield University Executive Development Associate lecturer where she curates and delivers leadership and team development modules to various FTSE 250 organisations.
